Bond Between Horse & Human!! Re: Grandma Teddy

This is a story I love to tell...and even though it happened 6 years ago now...my eyes still water when I think of it. Six years ago now Mom underwent triple by-pass and aortic valve replacement surgery. When my brother, sister, and I saw her in recovery right after the surgery at about 6:00 in the evening we thought she didn't look too bad considering her age..80...and what she had just been through. We were relieved it was over and encouraged by the way she looked. It had been a long 6 hours waiting.

We went early the next morning to see her in the step-down unit. All of us were kind of taken aback as things were beeping...nurses were around her telling her to breath....and her color was not good at all. They finally gave her...I don't know the proper term....some kind of mask with mist in it to help her breathe. She settled down and we told her to rest and we would be back in the afternoon.

I must mention at this point that the flooring in the hospital room had diamond shapes on it.

When we went back in the afternoon, we were pleasantly surprised to see Mom sitting up in a chair, some of the tubes had been removed, and she was regaining color in her face. Mom proceded to tell us this story!!

She said.."You know, I woke up a little while ago and there was Bribon...he was all curled up on that diamond right over there...as she pointed..He laid there for awhile and looked at me and then he just got up and walked away!"

I know in my heart that the spirit of Bribon was with her that day. Mom was going through a little rough patch and he showed up to help her through it!! My brother teased........"Mom it's the drugs they are giving you." The nurse even got in on it and pretended to write on her chart..."Patient seeing horses!!"

But although my brother teased, I know all 3 of us felt the same. The spirit of Bribon was with her!!

Mom was released 6 days after her surgery. I myself was a little nervous of this and said so. The ride home was 200 plus miles and it was the end of November and cold. But obviously everything turned out all right!!

When we pulled in Mom's driveway Bribon was standing at the gate. Mom's eyes immediately teared up as she said "hey fella". My brother backed the van up to the gate and was barely stopped when mom said "I'm getting out...let me out!" We helped her to the gate and with tears streaming down her face, she got to rub his ears, just the way he likes it!! We all had tears......but they were of happiness!!!

As a footnote, I would like to add that this is my very first blog ever!!! I am very new to YouTube, groups, blogs etc.......so would appreciate any pointers anyone may want to share with me.

Thanks

Kathy

Good story.
I had never written a blog when I started to write them over a year ago. I've done one a week since then (missed one week). With practice it becomes easier.
