Development of Equine Rehabilitation & Education Centre

I am in the process of evaluating the concept of a Premiere Equine Facility which will feature a rehabilitation, training and education for horses and riders.

I have developed a survey, which is easily completed in a few minutes. I am soliciting information and opinions from the horse community on such a facility to be built near the shores of Georgian Bay, north of the Town of Wiarton.

Wiarton is located in southwestern Ontario at the base of the Bruce Peninsula, home of the Bruce Trail and within a designated UNESCO World Biosphere Preserve. Our environment is unique and one of the focuses of the development will be alternative energy sources and environmental preservation. This area is renowned for its beautiful shorelines, sandy beaches, hiking trails and picturesque towns and villages. Directly across from the Hales Farm Equine Resource Centre is a Bruce County managed Adventure Park, featuring miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, groomed in winter for skiing and snowshoeing.

Hales Farm Equine Resource Centre will boast an exceptional indoor arena, the roof of which will be equipped with solar panels. A two story observation room will be large enough to accomodate workshops/lectures, as well as office, washrooms etc. The arena will have a large riding surface (70 X 180), with the best footing available and side bleachers. Stabling will be added to house twenty or more horses. Future Plans will incorporate a larger conference facility and accomodations.

My plan is to host clinics, workshops and training session with world class leaders in their fields. Focus will also be on the rehabilitation of horses and the re-training of ex-racehorses.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey. Your response is completely secure and confidential and will only be used to assess interest in a facility to provide unique equine experiences and opportunities.
