CAMDEN EQUINE REHABILITATION & CONDITIONING CENTER DEBUTS NEW SPORTS TECHNOLGY & HOLISTIC OPTIONS TO HELP HORSES & PONIES GET FIT & SOUND

MICHAELA & GARY YOUNG LAUNCH NEW MEDIA SITE TO INTRODUCE OPTIONS AVAILABLE AT KERSHAW COUNTY FACILITY

Kershaw County, SC - June 4, 2010- Gary and Michaela Young of Roger Young Stables expanded their equestrian offerings when they introduced the Camden Equine Rehabilitation & Conditioning Center (www.camdenequinecenter.com) in the beginning of 2010. Located on grounds of the beautiful hunter and jumper training facility in Kershaw County, South Carolina, the new center offers the latest techniques, veterinary technology and alternative sports medicine to assist in injury recovery, post-surgical care, and accelerated conditioning.

The facility houses state of the art therapy equipment, 12' x 12' stalls, a 300' x 200' riding arena, large grass paddocks and round pens and separate treatment areas where our experienced and well-trained staff is there to help horses recover as quickly and happily as possible. These cutting edge machines and new techniques are coupled with hands on, personalized attention by an experienced and certified staff, who ensure the best care for each and every horse that comes to the center.

Top trainers from all disciplines are now sending their horses to The Camden Equine Rehabilitation & Conditioning Center to recover from injuries, post surgery care, bring them back to work after a lay off, and receive the best pre-conditioning prior to competition. Following veterinary prescribed protocols, the Young team provide the highest standard of personalized and professional care available so that every horse is offered the utmost opportunity for a compete recovery.

Treatments at the Camden Equine Rehabilitation & Conditioning Center include the AquaPacer Underwater Treadmill, Laser, Ultrasound and Magnetic Therapy, Electrotherapy, Therapeutic Massage, a European Exercise Walker, Magna Wave PEMF (Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field), Centurion Therapulse, and Equissage. All of the services are supervised by the horse’s own veterinarian and carried out by the center’s staff according to his or her directions and recommendations. Acupuncture, chiropractic and shockwave therapies are also available through certified/professional veterinarians. The staff at the Camden Equine Rehabilitation & Conditioning Center handles the scheduling of appointments, daily medical care, physical therapy and conditioning exercises and short and long term lay-up as well as outpatient services are available.

Gary and Michaela have spent their lives with horses and their backgrounds offer invaluable experience in helping all types of horses to successfully return to useful lives and competition. “My husband Gary is a trainer, judge and rider, the third generation in the family business of showing, boarding and sales of top hunters and jumpers at the national level,” explained Michaela, who is an Amateur Owner competitor and certified judge. “But first, he is a horseman and I too have owned horses since my teenage years, and I think that is what differentiates us from other rehab centers.”

When a horse arrives in their care, Gary and Michaela confer with the visiting veterinarian to develop an individual rehabilitation plan that will be followed out by the staff. “Any vet can refer a horse to us, and we as therapist carry out the treatment exactly to their recommendations and directions,” explained Michaela. “We are a small and personable operation, where every horse that checks in gets lots of care, TLC and carrots. Because we are not a ‘clinic’ but are all horse people, we know how to read a horse, recognize changes immediately and address them. Every horse has a name with us, they are not just a number.

When talking about recovery, the mental aspect is just as important as the physical. Our motto is that we are here ‘to help your horse recover as quickly and happily as possible’. Our staff is well trained and extremely professional, and to add to that, we are all horse people.” Short and long term lay-up as well as outpatient services are available and owners and trainers are welcome to ship in for therapies.

To help introduce the new option at Roger Young Stables, the couple has launched the facility’s official web site, http://www.camdenequinecenter.com/. ; The new online option includes a list of offerings at the center, easy to understand definitions of both the medical sports techniques and machines that are employed, as well as photos and videos of the equipment and staff in action. This facility has been long overdue. I am so excited because now horse owners can breathe because help is now available. Thank all of you so much for all your efforts and hard work that was put in to making this center!
