Grooming in Germany with Olympian Belinda Trussell

Packing for yourself is hard enough. Try adding two horses and Olympic dressage rider Belinda Trussell! I don’t know if I’ll ever sleep again! I am heading to Germany with Belinda Trussell as she competes on the European Spring Tour, along with her Grand Prix and WEG mount Anton, and young horse Biasini.

Our equipment and luggage (minus carry on bag) has to be at the Sea Air terminal in Mississauga before 11:00am on Monday the 21st. We then have a day to relax before the trailer picks us up at the farm on Tuesday. We have to be at the airport for 2:15pm and our flight leaves at 6:45 that evening. I will board the flight as a normal passenger, but have a key to get to the cargo area and check on Anton and Biasini. The flight company, KLM airlines, is equiped with their own grooms which is extremely helpful!!

We will land in Amsterdam, wait, wait and wait some more, then have a 10 hour drive to Christilot and Udo’s farm in Rottingen Germany. We are set to arrive late on the evening of the 23rd. Luckily both Anton and Biasini have made the journey several times so we expect them both to travel well. Following our arrival in Germany we will unload, let them settle and walk them to let them stretch. When I am set up with internet in Germany I will post again and keep everyone updated on our travels.

Danke Schon!
