Well Loosi's (Bask N Coins) 2009 fantastic season just keeps getting better and better.

While we didn't expect to get any awards other than mileage accomplishments (Mother, Loosi and I all got our 1500 miles) at the OCTRA banquet due to the fact that we spent the majority of the season stateside. We completed only 3 Endurance rides and 1 CTR within OCTRA, well Loosi was 15th Endurance Horse and 19th Overall (combined CTR and END) - wow, guess everyone else had short seasons as well due to the economy.

Then surprise, surprise this week in the mail I received a letter from AERC stating that they send out around 300 regional standing awards (9 regions, 2 ride categories, 4 weight divisions plus a junior division with 10 placings in each) each year and that the jackets have the AERC logo, your name, your horse's name and the placing and division and they need to know jacket size for riders. Now I ride Middleweight in the NorthEast region which is one of the toughest places to be with some of the top riders in the nation riding Middleweight and the majority of them live in the NE. So I was wondering why AERC sent me the letter, unless the letter was mass mailed to all members.

Knowing that I had received a copy of Endurance News in the mail the previous week but hadn't had time to read it. I quickly found my copy and flipped to the back where the regional standings are listed and low and behold we are sitting tied for 8th!!!!!!!

Not not all the ride results are in and tabulated yet. My last ride was beginning of October and the ride season ends the 1st of December, I'm likely to be ousted when all is said and done. But by golly gee, I'm tickled pink to have made the rankings in the AERC Regional Point Standings!

This certainly does make you want to get out and get started on the 2010 ride season.

I'm thrilled for you!! I had a similar surprise just a few weeks ago. This year was my first riding in CTRs. I placed in the 3 that I entered (not hard when there are only 6 in my division, but oh well). Anyway, I found out I was 4th in Horsemanship and 5th in Horse in NATRC Region 6. Total surprise! Only 4 months until the first 2010 CTR!!
