Horses appreciate variety.  They can become bored with their jobs just like we can.  Dudley Mandy of Springbuck Natural Horsemanship of Collierville, Tennessee (www.springbuckhorsemanship.com) builds FUN into his training methods by allowing the horses to try things that they do not ordinarily see and do during the course of their routine training.  Here, we see Dudley introducing Whizard's Angel Pie to some jumping exercises over a barrel obstacle he has set up for her.  The obstacle is about 3.5- 4 feet high.  As you can see, Angel is enjoying herself and is eager to approach the jump.  Dudley redirects her to keep her listening to him, then sets her up to make her approach on his cue.  She's learning to listen/feel for his cue while having fun with the obstacle! Angel is a 2.5 year old Arabian/Quarter Horse filly, who has just been started under saddle.  She has had extensive groundwork, but this was her first exposure to the barrels.  Check out the video in Barnmice, or visit www.springbuckhorsemanship.com.
