I am new here on Barnmice, and thought I'd introduce myself with a blog post.

My love of horses started when I was very young (probably from the day I was born really) as it tends to run in my family. I never had the chance to have my own horse until I was ten, when my mom bought me my first pony, Teaspoon. Teaspoon was a standardbred/hackney , (what a cross huh?) and was only ever used for driving, but she was sweet enough to let me hop on bareback and ride her all over the country side.
After a few years with teaspoon, I had to come to terms with the fact that she was getting old and could no longer carry me around, so she was sent to heaven can wait, and soon after that, passed away (R.I.P old girl)
After teaspoon my mother bought me a standardbred gelding, named Caligo, he was the best horse ever. He was saved from going for meat by a close friend of mine, and we bought him from her. When I first got him he was in serious need of lots of TLC as he was still not too fond of people, after a month of him and I spending every minute together, we were riding around the country side.
I owned Caligo for about 3 years, then as I decided to move onto showing, I had to sell him in order to buy myself a show horse.
Caligo went to a little girl who I hope he lives the rest of his years with.
I then bought Summer, who I still currently own, and I have promised her that I will own her until her years are over.
I bought her as a two year old, she is now turning five. She is a beautiful Trakehner/thoroughbred by Ethos. She has taught me a lot through our years together, she is extremely saucy and full of attitude, but would never hurt a fly. We have shown in the hunter ring and done well, and are now hopefully moving on to eventing.

I have been working with horses for four years now, I quit school in grade nine to start my career with horses. I began mucking in exchange for board, wich soon changed into riding and mucking full time. I started off riding green youngsters to get them going and teach them the basics after they were broke, then I began to ride the young race horse babies, which then excaladed my passion for race horses. I soon begain excersizing race horses of all ages, then begain working at Windfields in Oshawa exercizing the race horses.

I am currently working at a 3-day eventing facility, which I thoroughly enjoy.

My goal is to one day run my own farm doing track lay ups with the thoroughbreds.

Thats me !
