The Horse as Therapist -- Part I

Yet more poetic ramblings courtesy of my alter ego, Shakespeare "The Equine"

Enjoy!

The Horse as Therapist -- Part I

When you look at me, of course,
You think that I am just a horse.
But, folks, for you I’ve got some news
I’m the go-to guy when you get the blues.

Feeling lonely? Feeling sad?
Feel like everything’s gone bad?
Just spend a little time with me
And you’ll feel better, wait and see.

Grab a brush and go to town;
Groom my body up and down.
Use some elbow grease and find
You’ll rub the blues out of your mind.

In the saddle move with me
Together we can be set free.
Forget your troubles and your grief,
Just flow with me and find relief.

Then take me for a gentle graze
Release the last of your malaise.
And to my stable gently lead
To find, at last, your spirit freed.

But best of all you need to know
About the little seed you sow.
When spending time with me, t’is true,
You help me to feel better too.

When the scribe walks into the barn with a sad or worried face and leaves a couple of hours later looking relaxed and wearing a smile, I know I’ve done my job.

See you next time in Poet's Paddock!

Great Poem. I don't think I've ever left the pasture or barn without a smile.
