Holberg competed at Preliminary eventing in 1998; was champion at Training level in 1997. In 1999 he competed solely in dressage - at Cornerstone Farms Spring and Summer recognized shows he was Champion at both with all scores in the 60's and an incredible 77%.
At the 2001 Stallion Performance Test, and from the 2000 SPT, Holberg is the only stallion awarded a 10 in rideability! The remarks of the test riders at the 2001 Stallion Performance Test are most revealing. Awarding him a 10 for rideability, CET coach Peter Grey said " This magnificent stallion can come in my barn any time"
Jumping test rider, Erin Ballard said "My kind of horse. I didn't want to get off him."
Jumping test rider, Chris Pratt said "Whatever I asked for, this horse was ready for me."
Holberg competed at pure dressage with superb results up to the PSG level and has returned to eventing for the 2007 season with Ruth Armstrong. Holberg crosses well with both TB and Warmbloods and has over 50 progeny in Ontario, Quebec and Alberta competing on the circuit who have inherited his incredible movement & disposition.
