Tent Pegging performed bitless for first time in history

Wow! We made history yesterday! For the first time ever - tent pegging was done bitless. This horse was injured early in the week when the rider fell off and pulled the bit through its mouth. Gerry fit it bitless on Tuesday. This took place Thursday Oct 7th, 2010.

Check the flying lead changes and control the rider has -- after little or no practice bitless.

Tent pegging is a cavalry sport of ancient origin, and is one of only ten equestrian disciplines officially recognised by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports.

It dates back to over 300 BC when Alexander the Great invaded Inia. Opposing armies would race through the enemy camp and remove all their tent pegs.
