This is how I worked the horses out this winter. We had so much snow and it was really cold so I really couldn't do much. Thankfully they really enjoyed both the lunging in deep snow and playing around with each other :)

it's a very good workout yes, like water the snow puts no restrain on the horse limbs, yet it encourages them to lift their feet, lower their neck and raise their back giving them a full body workout. It is great but hard work so we only had 10-15 min workouts after a good walk-/trot up. And Jackie, no, she hardly lift them off the ground! hehe lazy pony ;)

Looks like a good work session. Does the pony trot as high when there is no snow?
