Sky and I went on our first trail ride today.

Since she's only 4, I didn't really know what to expect from her.

She was AMAZING. She was looking around at stuff, yes, but she didn't spook, she was smart, and wasn't dangerous at all.

The best part about today? She and I cantered for our first time.

At home, I've been working on our walk and trot, but she was doing so good today, I thought...well why not!

My jaw was dragging behind us. I had never ridden a canter like this before. Ever.

It was a great uphill rocking horse canter. It was like a rolling canter. And as the jockey of Ruffian described her, the same goes for Sky. She spends another extra moment hanging in the air to give you one of those breathtaking rides. The stuff that dreams and heaven is made out of.

I just COULD NOT get enough of it!!!! I think I've fallen even more for this horse.

I think this was also a good break for her as well. I think the last time she got out of the arena was a year and a half ago, at least.

That was such a nice description that I had to reply! Sounds so great for you a Skye! I can relate as I have a 3-year-old that I've bred and just started, and she too is giving me the best movement! I can't wait to ride her each time I go out. Hopefully this will continue! Good luck in your riding.
