A few times when I was living in Uruguay we would drive up to Sao Paulo across the Brazilian countryside (I hope the roads are better, that was around 50 years ago.) I never got into the gaited breeds while down in SA, mostly rode on criollos in Chile and Uruguay. I did own a Puerto Rican Paso Fino mare up here though. They can be fun trail riding!
I hope you have many good trail rides on your new horse. It is so nice to ride a horse who is well trained.

What breeds are your horses? Are they the easy gaited (Paso) type?
