They can be built rather wide, but they are very, very smart and will have you figured out in 2 minutes! Smarter than most other horses. But they usually love people and are very inquisitive, live on air (no grain at all really) and have very good feet! I hope to one day to be as smart as my Haflinger mare! Good luck in your search!

I have never had or ridden a Haflinger, I think that they are awfully cute, sturdy equines with a wonderful color. I will give any Haflinger an extra look because they look so gorgeous.
I have been told that they often need extra wide saddles, so make sure that your saddle fits or prepare yourself for buying a wider saddle to fit the horse.
