Andrew Kocher and Laura Chapot Dominate Wednesday Action at 47th Annual Lake Placid Horse Show

Kocher Wins 1.40 and 1.30 Meter Classes While Chapot Wins 1.35 Meter

Wednesday's action at the 47th annual Lake Placid Horse Shows, presented by Sea Shore Stables LLC, with Kocher winning two classes and Chapot one.
 
In the day's featured event, Kocher rode Uppie De Lis to victory in the $5,000 WPTZ News Channel 5 1.40-meter Jumper Class with Chapot sweeping the next three places. Kocher earned the win with a fault-free ride in the day's fastest time of 57.792 seconds. Chapot took second third and fourth places on ISHD Dual Star, Quointreau Un Prince and Bradberry respectively.

In the $1,500 Dartbrook Rustic Goods 1.35-meter Jumper Class, Chapot turned the tables on Kocher, winning the class on Out of Ireland while Kocher placed second on Chuckles. Chapot finished the jump-off fault-free in 42.477 seconds while Kocher finished in 44.315.
 
Earlier in the day, Kocher rode Rico S to the win over a 55-horse field in the $1,200 LP Summit Resort Hotel/Suites 1.30-meter Jumper Class. Kocher finished the one-round course fault-free in 59.900 seconds to take the win over Tori Colvin and Don Juan who finished clean in 62.301 seconds.

The Lake Placid Horse Show runs through Sunday at the North Elba Showgrounds, highlighted by the $75,000 Devoucoux Grand Prix of Lake Placid on Sunday afternoon. The I Love New York Horse Show follows, July 5-10, featuring the $100,000 Equine Insurance Services/Great American Grand Pix on Saturday, July 9. Admission to the horse show is just $2.00 on weekdays and $5.00 on weekends. Children under the age of 12 are admitted free. Discounts are available for groups of 20 or more.
 
For a behind the scenes look at the horse show, guided walking tours are offered on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 11:30 a.m. The tour groups meet at the horse show retail booth, and the tours, costing just $1.00, last approximately one hour.
