I grew up with horses, since my grandfather gave me a Welsh Mountain pony as a child. As a teenager, I showed in English and helped to run the Brampton Fall Fair horse show. In 1989, I became a therapeutic riding volunteer, first at Community Association for Riding for the Disabled in Toronto and then as Treasurer of the Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association. 1996-99, I was Executive Director of the Ontario Equestrian Federation, and 2004-08 a Commissioner with the Ontario Racing Commission. Now I just do Western riding for fun, doing trails, speed patterns and relaxing on a horse (Nijomi Little Jac) at Double M Stables near Uxbridge. I operate a consulting practice providing leadership services to nonprofits (Including horse associations!) and governments.
