Event Description

you know that although the Arabian horse is dates back over 4000 years, there was never a documented white Arabian horse until 1999? …or that a mare usually has 35 to 40 teeth but her teeth never stop growing for her entire life? If not, here is your chance to learn more about these beautiful animals. The Bristol County Horsemen’s Association and several local businesses have found a way to enjoy the local horses and help the town at the same time. They are planning a Horse Exposition at Hobby Horse Farm, 23 Bay State Road, near the corner of routes 118 and 44 in Rehoboth. They have assembled 20 common and exotic breeds in all sizes and colors that they plan to show. There will be many other attractions including pony rides, carriage rides, and a raffle for the work of chainsaw artist, Michael Higgins.
Bring your family and enjoy the day on August 15. Hobby Horse Farm, owned by Doug and Rita Dent, is a beautiful 100 acre farm with a long history in Rehoboth. It is the home of the Dartmouth Equestrian Team.
The proceeds of this event will be donated to the Parks Commission to put towards Nike Park. Nike Park is a planned playground that will give the local children a place to play.
