At this one day clinic you will learn all the exercises needed to stretch the major muscle groups in the horse, with a focus on proper posture and safe stretching techniques. You will have the opportunity to practice all of the exercises (primarily focusing on passive stretches) on the REACH horses in the heated barn.
This course explains:
the benefits of stretching
the difference between active and passive stretching
how to use automatic responses to encourage horse to perform certain stretches effectively introducing a horse to stretching for the first time. Ultimately, learn how to tailor a stretching program specifically for your own horses.
Tuition includes all course materials, handouts, refreshments and lunch.
Please Note: Passive stretching of limbs requires lifting and maneuvering of the horse’s legs. You must be confident you are physically capable of performing these exercises prior to registering for the course. The focus of this course will always be on safety - both for the horse and for the handler. If you have any questions concerning physical requirements, please contact Sharon for more details: sharon@mcmastermassage.com or 519 571 0613
