In August, 2014 I will be riding in the Mongol Derby, a 1000 kilometer horse race across the wilds of Mongolia. We will brave all kinds of terrain from mountains to river valleys, steppes, and desert while riding strings of 25 different semi-wild Mongolian horses. 

There is no marked trail or path. We have to guide ourselves across the terrain using a GPS and a map with coordinates on it. There is no help, no team ready to swoop in and assist if we fall off or decide to give up. We will have an SOS device that if used, withdraws us from the race. I'm hoping to be the first American woman to win the Mongol Derby!
