I just finished reading Monty Roberts biography
in english (The man who listens to horses) and I
loved it! I was wondering if anyone else has read it
or could reccomend any other books?
I have read it too and I agree, brilliant! I can also recommend his book "Shy Boy - The Horse That Came From The Wild". Not only is it a moving story of trust between Monty and a wild mustang but the photographs are stunning!
I cannot recomment other books at this moment, maybe another time, but I've been to a show with Monty Roberts and Anky van Grunsven and Imke Bartels, in the Netherlands, I cann't remember, but I think Anky on the microphones, Imke on her dressage horse and Mont on a Haflinger? It was marvelous. Monty was wonderfull, also in free dressage with another horse. I will try to find You tube's about it and post it.
My all time favorite is Leslie Desmonds audio book, (on CD), Horsemanship through Feel, A-Z. And the book she did wiht Bill Dorrance, True Horsemanship Through Feel. I have found they have impacted my whole life, not just my horsemanship.
Yes, I reciently read it for the first time and loved it. It was great to hear since i reciently completed a diploma in horse breeding and found that what we learnt there were very similiar if not the same as from him book! Especially when we were handling the young horses or starting 3 yr olds. Great that teaching facilities have taken on his methods!
