Most of my four legged friends have been rescued which has been a special experience for me. Somehow, it's as though they know you really, really care and give they back so much. My two legged friends always had their 'houses' open to come and go. We've fostered for the Humane Society as well in order to help to find homes in greater times of need. More people I hope, will realize the Therapeutic value of Animal companions.

Hi Meredith

Do you have a farm where you rescue the animals?
Hi Mary-Joe, no, most of my personal lifetime companions have been rescues from the SPCA, Humane Society or malnourished, injured and seemingly badly treated strays. I just do what I am able to within my abilities. In regards to another sector of need...wildlife, I am sad to see such organizations as Wildcare and Earthrangers not able to continue their great work that they did over the years. With Mountsberg and the Toronto Centre in Downsview as two of the few remaining places available for injured wild animals, there are opportunities to volunteer for those who may be interested. Lots to do for those who often cannot help themselves.
