the buckskin colt is a warlander and he is now 3.5 and startinghis life as an under saddle horse. Believe me he is still this stunning but now he is huge!
He is truly something that Michaelangelo would have committed to stone
a warlander is a now recognized breed- and has a pretty popular data base. it is a combo of friesian and andalusian ( lusitano) and there is no other breed(s) allowed. It can be registered as a warlander, and with the IALHA and with FFH as well and can be shownin the open and whatever breed divisions it is reg. with.
You get the bone and baroqueness of the both breeds, a strong back, uphillmovement and wonderful strength , trainability and as a bonus you can get this magical horse in black or buckskin, bay ,chestnut or a palomino. I have seen some cute ones and a few absolutely magnificant ones and the prices range from 7k to 25k for a youngster with incredible potentional.
Beautiful horse. What is a Warlander? I have never heard of this breed.
How old is the Warlander? It's a beautyfull horse to see!
I joined this group because my horse, Cole, though he is not an official Baroque breed, is a very Baroque horse. He is a morab, which is a Morgan/Arab cross. At 3/4 Foundation Morgan, he looks and moves quite Baroque. The Foundation Morgans are only a tiny part of the Morgan breed. I feel very lucky to have such a special horse.
by the way the pic I posted of Scherazade was when she was a coming 2 yr old. Not before she was bred.
I fell in love with her as a foal and her dam is the sweetest mare- can be saddled up after a yr of not being ridden and off you go- and I coveted the filly and when she became available I bought her- and she was bred. But she lives on 10 acres with my other friesians and andalusians and is eating and playing and growing and running and she will have a life like this for as long as she is with me.
Since I own the mares and my stallion and do not have to pay huge prices for sperm and shipping I am able to offer better prices for offspring and since I am an assistant spend all day with the foals and the mares and stallion they are handled daily and show this in how they interact with humans.
