Here is IMPY who was the first ever Warlander stallion to be imported into South Africa ! Bred by Abacus farms and his dam is Dreamlands Gitana, a grey Andalusian and his sire is Abacus UNO.
This is Abacus Icon, sired by Ulrik, and his dam was Silver belle time, a lovely gray saddlebred.
He was under saddle for 6 weeks in this photo and he was one of the most wonderful and easy horses to start. he sold after his video hit u tube- in 3 days.
This boy has the same dam and sire as the black filly below- this is a 4 yr old friesian x arab gelding. He is much heavier and bigger than his sister. They both came to be started and after 3 months he went home to his owner- who is on him in the photo.
this is a fun photo- with Martha's, Xanto, her friesian x andalusian cross and my 2.5 yr old friesian stallion Zensational BHE playing.
They got along together daily and played for hours.
I have been an active breeder for over 10 yrs of crosses - and since the very early 1990's I have owned several crosses of friesian stallions to morgan and saddlebred mares.
I have owned 3 lovely stallions who were part of my breeding program, and we covered mares who were tb, hannovarian, warmblood, andalusian, lusitano, morgan, qh, arabian, friesian, paint, welsh cob, connemera, etc- all breeds where the horses use was for riding , with emphasis in the equestrian arts of eventing and dressage.
It is less important the breed of the horse- the most important thing is the suitability of the horse- for the purpose of which you wish to ride. Every breed will have forward big horses and there will be those who move more like western pleasure or lower hunter types-
or carriage horse gaits,
So breeding a horse like this to a big forward huge moving friesian is not going to be the answer. Type to type is essential.
I will attempt to add a few photos of some incredible friesian crosses.
thanks
susie
here is one example of a 5 yr old saddlebred x friesian mare. The sire was my friesian stallion , Ulrik, the dam a saddlebred named Vegas Doll.
Oh yes there is so much vigor, and the vigor is in folds, as they have some spark- and an aura when you cross two very handsome horses- who are type to type.
Strong hooves like iron- bigger feet, bone that is dense , body of a statue of the most famous horses in all time is what you have under you,,,,
I love them all.
I find them to be intelligent horses- happy and magical and they shine. When it is bred in the teaching becomes so much easier- not a fight , and not a war ,but just so much fun in the work that you never want to get off.
