Several days before an official announcement from Paul Schöckemohle about Totilas' new rider, which is expected tomorrow, Mattias Rath spoke with a Swedish Equestrian magazine, Tidningen Ridsport, about his trial ride on Totilas.
According to
Eurodressage, Rath's stepmother, Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff, reached an agreement with Schöckemohle almost two weeks ago. (Mention was made of an agreement with an unnamed German rider following the Stuttgart German Masters Show in our Barnmice story
here). However, Rath apparently felt it was time to share with the world his experience in test-riding the world's top dressage horse.
Rath related his overwhelming sense of delight while riding Totilas. He spoke of feeling "incredible" and "indescribable" much the same choice of words Edward Gal used when asked how the horse felt.
Rath did say that Schöckemohle had been in discussions with several riders, so the official announcement tomorrow is still a bit more than a formality.
