My mare is actually at 351 days not 340. And it looks like she could be going tonight.

Thanks so much.

Hopefully not! My 4h leader who has been breeding minis for years said that some mares tend to get CRANKY before foaling and pearl is beyond CRANKY, i'm sitting in my house and all i can hear is her squealing at my geldings, none stop squealing, and then she chases them, and kicks at them. She's a brat, lol

Okay,
And yeah her vulva is relaxed, that's about the thing really, oh and her tail head is getting mushy too

Well, Holly, if you felt the foal definitely kicking....then he/she is still in there ;) My mare has some edema in front of her udder too; it's very normal and nothing to worry about (she even had it before she was in foal, a bit). I have been hearing that many people's minis are foaling without much of an udder, but that once the foal's out the udder is big and full of colostrum. Something with the moon/weather? LOL. Minis hardly ever wax, contrary to big horses. And many go against the grain, in terms of textbook foaling signs. So...just keep a close eye on her. How does her vulva look? Usually it will be very relaxed and long. Also, her tail head should (but, again, not always with minis) be very soft and mushy.

She is a maiden, my 4h leaders been helping me a bit. One thing were worried about is no udder, well hardly, and she has some udder edema, We have felt the foal kicking, alot, not as much now. She's at 341 days.

We've only had big foals born around here, not minis, so were not to sure about all this, i know minis are a bit different than full size horses.

Hey Holly
Okay. Is she a maiden? Does she look to be in foal and nearing foaling ie. does she have a filled udder etc.? Sometimes mares can act like they're in heat even when they are in foal. It's just hormones lol. Have you felt the foal kicking? I only ask because my little one is kicking so much in there that I can see my mares belly moving on camera (yes, I think he or she is going to be an active little fart lol). This is my mare's first and she's at 325 (mini's can foal anywhere from 300-365 days or more...Crazy! Post some pics, if you'd like; maybe some more experienced eyes can tell you if she's in foal. How far along is she supposed to be?

can someone please help me, this is my first time with having pregnant minis, and my mini mare, the one that's due any day is in heat, or acting like it, what does this mean? Does it mean she has no foal or what?

Kristen,
this is a good idea, we should bring it up at the 4h meeting, for the kids to join maybe?

Anyways my story,
i have 4 minis, 2 which are currently pregnant, one is due any day now.
My first mini is the one that's due anyday, Her name is Pearl Creeks Lacey, shes 33.5", she's a silver dappled pinto, and she's 7 years old.
Second mini is AJ Murray's Buckeroo Heime, a 29", 2 year old gelding, and he's a sorrel, but were waiting to clip him, he may be a dun.
Third mini is HL'S Oreo Cookie, a 36", 5 year old gelding, and he's a black and white pinto. He was a rescue, he was abused the majority of his life, he was so afraid of people it was heart breaking, we got him new years day '09, and since then i can halter him, brush him, bath him (sort of, still not loving it), clip him, and he even follows me in the field. He's also part shetland, a gorgeous boy! So happy to have recieved him.
Fourth mini, Dream Makers Little Chrystal, a 35.5", 8 year old mare. She's all white, and she has one blue eye.

2 minis on the way...will be sure to update !
