Able but Disabled mare who heals gang youth and war veterans caught in farm foreclosure - Please help!

This horse is a very special soul – she works miracles for our non profit Spring Reins of Life with at risk youth and war veterans.  She is caught in the cross fire of a very sudden surprise of farm foreclosure – once we have some runway time our nonprofit can budget and fund-raise for her care…however in this time crunch we need the support to cover her costs and special needs so that she can remain with us, in our care/supervision and continue helping others in need.I'm writing to let you…See More

A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
I have loved horses all of my life. When I was 2, we couldnt afford a horse so I became one - traveled on all fours and robbed hairpeices from my mom for a tail. At age 11, I got my first horse - an amazing mare (blue roan
Appaloosa/QH cross named Lochi's Cin), we grew up together in Seattle area.

I moved to NYC half way through high school and was separated from horses for nearly 10 years. It was at Claremont (in NYC) that I found my next equine guide, an Appaloosa/TB cross named Spring Thaw. He became mine b/c he kept leaving riders in Central Park and coming back to barn through 4 city blocks and traffic by himself - which was a liability to them but a sign of super smarts to me...we have been together now for 12 years. Next came Dane, my 10yr old Lipizzan cross - who is my current competition horse in Dressage and Eventing (lower levels).

Stop the GENOCIDE on America's Wild Mustangs...we must act together and with poise...

Posted on May 12, 2010 at 4:27pm 0 Comments

We, as a nation of horse lovers, MUST become a unified VOICE for the Wild Mustangs of our West. They are being illegally rounded up, brutally handled, and many are being shipped to Mexico and Canada for slaughter.

THIS IS ILLEGAL according the 1971 ROAM ACT.

The BLM is taking laws, decisions and these matters into their own hands (no doubt being manipulated by the few, the greedy and the selfish for reasons of cattle/sheep grazing, and the Ruby Oil Pipeline...)

This has to… Continue

My beloved healer horse, Spring Thaw had a bit of an emergency last week/this weekend...

He started swelling on Thurs 12/17, local vet Dr. Fazio came out and found a puncture wound in the fatty pocket above the eye (don’t know name). He flushed it and gave iv antibiotics, ban-amine, and bute.

Dr. Fazio came Friday AM to check it and it was worse and pussing, he wasn’t willing to mess with it and said to get him to clinic for x-rays, etc.

Friday. 12.18.09 Spring… Continue

Do you mean you found an image of my art online? I do have a horse medicine wheel image here: http://www.spiritofhorse.com/store/store/comersus_viewitem.asp?idproduct=376 I have options for allowing the use of this image for workshops and advertising. Thanks! Kim

Hi Christianna,
Thank you for your sweet comments about my art. I do feel that I am channeling the horse's spirit and my exploration of this is a joy and an honor. You mentioned posting on of my horse collages - do you mean one of my soul essence portraits? Thank you for asking and for your offer of a link. I appreciate the link but I actually don't allow free posting of my art because I sell my art as logos and advertising use, but I do have some wonderful free animated banners you can access on the bottom of my links page http://www.spiritofhorse.com/store/store/custom_pages.asp?id=79 I'll look into adding my ecards website banner there too - do you know about my ecards site www.spiritofhorsecards.com?

Neat that you grew up here : ) ! I come to upstate NY Rochester area frequently to visit my best friend there.

Thanks
Kim

In response to a previous comment -- many foals, often only days or hours old are forced to run in the roundup and die...trampled to death and orphaned. The older, wiser horses are also taken, leaving the inexperienced ones without the knowledge of where the grazing and watering areas are and the survival skills needed to pass on for survival of the herd. I just wanted everyone to know what's going on, in case they didn't.
