I think you are in my neighbourhood. My husband and I have just moved to a small acreage south of Mildmay.

My wife and I own a training facility where we train Quarter horses and also breed them. I have ridden Quarter horses all of my life although my training started with hunter/jumpers then went to Thoroughbreds. Quarter Horses have always been my favorite mainly because of their versatility and their honesty.

Just wanted to say I`m glad to find your group! Just joined Barnmice today. I used to breed Paints and Quarter horses back in the 80`s and still have 2 " leftover" mares. They are 25 yrs.old. I bought a new gelding 1 1/2 yrs ago. He is out of Mazzeratti . I have loved getting to know him and trail ride in the Mts. , after not riding for a few years. He is a sweetheart, even though he is a little spoiled! I only get to ride twice a month or so , because I live almost 2 hrs. away. But I have a young girl who has been riding him that works at the stables. She loves him too! What ever works!

Gotta love my mare IBA SASSY TOO, and my colt A SLO TEMPTATION, both are forgiving, and my 18 year old mare can run circles over the youngins!

My first horse was a qurater horse, Whispers First Flame aka, whisper. she taught me everything that i needed to know about horrses. i learned to walk and trot on her, a little of cantering, and poles. whenever i would fall off, she would stand right were she was and would nudge me to get back on. i now only have a limited time to ride her, so she's a little behind. plus, she's getting old and she has front foot problems, but i still love her.

I grew up with American Quarter Horses. They are my life, and I couldn't live without them. I'm always talking about one of them. My favorite would have to be my 5 year-old gelding, Dallas a.ka. SRL Buck Hancock. We have another 10 other AQHs, along with a few cross breeds. I'm planning to show my 5 year-old and 2 year-old next year. Both are extremely talented horses, just a little behind on their show career.

I have rode, raised and trained Quarter horses all my life. I have one paint and one Thoroughbred, my quarter horses have had more heart and try than any other breed. I love watching a quarter horse at work, be it roping, cutting, or tending kids - they are the best all around breed. Although I will include my 7 yr. old paint to that - she is out of my Tinkers Copy quarter horse mare.

My first show horse, Aint She Fancy, an appendix QH palomino mare. She and I went through so much and she and I jumped things people would be scared of. We were (still are) so close. I will always love QH's, they are made of some special stuff.

My first horse was a Quarter Horse named Tony. He was so tolerant of all my mistakes. I will never forget him!
