Thanks guys!  I was beginning to feel pretty stupid in the beginning, but each rider was told the same thing, so I guess it wasn't just me.....the funny thing is....I really like this clinician - very well known and respected throughout…

What do you people normally do when you are warming up for a session with y our horse?  I have developed one that seems to work for me, but at a recent clinic I rode in, the clinician told everyone he worked with, that the  correct warm-up…

I need advice on a Welsh/standardbred mare that I presently own.  No health issues/saddle has been fitted to her.  She was very green when I bought her.  The standardbred in her really comes out in the trot, and I am finding it very…

Yes, I've shown western too and never had a problem with my other mare.  Now, in dressage, it seems more difficult.  We have mastered all the upward and downward transitions except the canter/walk....I think Jackie that you and I are…

A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
I've been an equestrian since grade 5...competed on the quarter horse circuit for 5 years - enjoyed moderate success. Have enjoyed barrel racing and the pickup race, jumping and hunted with the local Hunt Club twice on a quarter horse. Presently own 2 horses: one 16 hh quarter horse mare and one part Welsh/Standardbred mare. I compete in dressage with the quarter horse mare - working 2nd level, competing 1st. Presently starting work on the Welsh.

Hi I also have stbs. but they are race horses... 2- one is a 3 year old colt that is supposed to be an eventer when I am done with racing him (he hasn't made it yet) and the other is the older horse that is supposed to be paying to keep the colt!!! that hasn't happened yet either since Tattoo (the 6 year old) has been to the gate twice for me and got nothing both times! back to the drawing board! lol

Anyway, I love all horses, and all breeds, but after having and working with tones of different horses/breeds over the years, I've come to love the stbs best.

take care and good luck to you and both your horses
