A herd for those living on Vancouver Island BC, Canada. Please pop in and say hello! Feel free to tell us about yourself and your horse pals. Dogs and cats too of course!
Hi Tara,
If you haven't joined the Island Horses forum, I recommend you do. The Island horse community is very active! While I am not well versed on the AQHA circuit and related QH things, there are many on that forum that could help you out! The horse people out here are great!

I did go for a ride sunday and it wasnt bad at the start but on the way back DOWN POUR I got soaking wet and was so cold I had a hard time unsaddling my horse. Any how hope the rest of the week isnt as bad my paddocks need time to dry out.

I ride as much as I can. Most winters are really wet and kinda chilly. We do get some snow, but not an overly large amount. There are quite a few indoors in Nanimo that you will probably be able to trailer to, to ride in if you dont feel like riding in the rain.
Hey I was wondering, can you guys ride all winter long? like you dont get snow do you? I'm moving to the Nanaimo area, so I don't think we get snow do you?

I finally found a group for people on Van Island. I'm moving for Van Island in less then a month, around the Nanaimo Area. I'm going to be taking lesson at Dragon hill farm. Its gonna be totally awsome!!!
I agree, very lucky your hubby gets up on your horse..!
Louis says maybe when we move he would be interested in trying to ride, I cannot even imagine the good fortune of going out for a long ride/picnic with him..
