SHAME! Good thing you rescued them both! :)

No, she is my third, but my first horse was a major nightmare so I am loving life!! It wasn't really  his fault, he was a rescue horse who was a stallion until we got him (at 9). he'd just been in someone's backyard, mounting the other horse we rescued, at will! His name was Monty and he was a serious handful!! The mare, Suraya, was apparently so abused, that when we tried to ride her her heart beat so fast and hard we had to get off! poor thing...she is now at pasture.

I just got my horse, Sementa, about a month ago! I am so in love! She is an Austrian Warmblood and is the sweetest natured mare ever!

Here is how Mo's leg looks at the moment... I took this pic 2day. It took me 4eva 2 get da right pic 'cos he kept on moving! I used a magnetic therapy blanket called the Bemer 300, expensive? Yes. Effective? Definately! Proved the vet wrong! :) And I also took the tight bandage off and replaced it with a home made fly boot which allows it to breathe and makes the swelling go down! :) :) =]

Hi Solara. You are so right that we are so lucky...... Each and every one of my friends has lost a horse...... I feel so lucky I've not ever experienced that.... but I'm sure I will cry and cry too when it happens and I am very sorry for your loss.

Shame, I can't say I know how that feels but I can imagine it!

You all are so lucky to have bonds with a horse. Both my two sweetheart were taken away from my riding school without warning, so i couldn't say goodbye. Bella, was a cheeky, beautiful, strong mare that bucked a lot. But me and her had a special bond. Then suddenly, she was replaced with twister an off track race horse, i hated him at first for replacing my Bella, but then he became the sweetest thing in the world. He only trusted me when i put on his blanket. Then, after 4 months, gone, again, i have a strngish bond with a horse called Goldy but she lives all the way in Paarl, and i NEVER see her. Miss them all so much, cried a few times to admit it. Still think about Bella and Twister loads.

You lucky fish.

My boy is an ex-racehorse. He was a greatly liked racer among the others and quite new to the track. Then he had an accident. No body really knows wat happened. But it is really a lot better now and he hasn't limped once since I took this picture! :) The vet said it wuld be impossible for flesh to grow back... well, we proved her wrong! Next time I go to Thandeka (The stables I keep him at) I'll take a pic of his leg of how it looks now and put it on here. Keep an eye out! I'm going 2 Thandeka 2morrow so watch closely 4 da pic! :)
