Alexander Park is situated in the beautiful Avon Valley in Western Australia and is dedicated to breeding Trakehner horses. We also breed Trakehner ponys and sporthorses (part breds) on occaision. The stud was established in 1989 with the intention of breeding a small number of horses each year for dressage, eventing and showjumping.
The aim in our breeding program is to produce horses of exceptional quality, with natural talent to match the best in Australia, perhaps the world. It is vital that we keep improving the standard of horses produced through each generation, to ensure our Australian bred Trakehners are competitive both here and overseas.
Breeding quality youngstock can only be achieved through quality parents. Both the sire and the dam need generations of proven bloodlines behind them. Their type, movement and trainability are also vitally important in determining how their offspring are likely to perform.
We were one of the pioneers in Australia of sales of foals in utero and today sell most of our young stock by this very successful method.
