Profile Information

A Bit About Me and my Horse(s): I do not own a horse.
I never had the privilege of growing up with horses,
My parents went well beyond their means to drive me out to a large horse-dealer type of "equestrian center", where I could exchange a day of hard work for "riding lessons". Many horses passed through the hands of the farm, and I got first hand experience with hundreds of horses for many years. I saw everything, bad practice, good practice, hundreds of different breeds with a unique origin for every horse. I also experienced the equestrians, something I like to take note of.

I eventually went on to different styles of schools with both certified and uncertified coaches. I acquired rider levels in the Ontario Equestrian Federation and Pony Club and I showed a couple times for the experience. All the while, I soaked up everything I could, so that when things got too expensive and I had to move off to the city to pursue my studies, I was left with a mind concentrated on horses.

I am completing my bachelor of fine art in Integrated Media at the Ontario College of Art and Design University. I am an artist, an equestrian, a student of life! Integrated media is a complicated major. I take classes in the classic visual arts, but I am moving into a focus on video art, online art and website design, programming electronics and screenwriting. I try to revolve my work around horses as much as possible. Anyone who knows me must first know that I am a horse lover.

My name is Gary Glaser and I am the mounted commander of the 9th New York Cavalry and live in Binbrook, Ont. I belong to a group of equine enthusiasts that enjoy living historians and American civil war, we are the 9^th NY cavalry.

The Ninth New York Cavalry has been reactivated by ain the portrayal of the life of the Federal Horse Soldier. As a group, we participate in living history encampments, re-enactments, and giving informative lectures throughout the year in both Ontario and the U.S.
