Many years ago I participated in English Civil War renactments- I was a Cavalier ( of course!!) Great fun and as a 16th/17th century history buff- gave me quite a connection to past events...

He wanted me join the military my whole life (clearly I'm not military material haha) He loves history and all that entails. But he's also the one who got me into riding as a child and he took me to all my lessons and paid for everything for so many years. If I did that he would be absolutely ecstatic! I also noticed the bugle. My Dad was in the Canadian reserves and had one just like it.
