A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
Im Ami, Im 27 and I live in England. I have 3 horses/ponies all of which have come to me after some kind of neglect/mistreatment, I also now have a 4th monster bought for me by my husband.
I ride a collection of horses for friends/collegues who dont have time to keep their horses fit. I work as a manager in a care home for the elderly but all of my spare time is taken up with four legged monsters. I also have 3 dogs, 1 cat and a budgie so Im busy, busy, busy!

Grace had a foal

Well Ive just had the wonderful news that my friends pony, Grace, has given birth to a lovely little colt.

We had our suspicions that she was pregnant when she came back last week, from being on loan for a year as a companion. The vet was called and he was pretty certain she was in foal but we decided not to get her tested in case the stress of treatment so soon after the stress of travel caused any problems.

We decided to treat her like a mare in foal and see what happened!

Malachi

Hi all,

Just a quick update on my baby!

We are doing super well together at the moment. We have overcome the majority of his fears and he now trusts me! He is still a very willing, big hearted boy!!

So far we have done all the basics like picking up feet, learning to walk on a leadrope, stable and field manners etc, all of which we did slowly and without any shouting or bullying.

I decided that as he is going to be 2 in April we should take the next step.… Continue

Malachi

I wrote about Molly giving birth to Malachi a while back and thought I'd give you an update.

Malachi was given away to a new home once he was weaned as I couldnt afford to keep him & didn't end up buying him.

The new owners didnt do anything with him and at 13months he was given back to Molly's mum as he was "dangerous". He wasnt dangerous at all, he was just an unhandled baby!

My hubby bought him for me when he turned 13 months and he's now 17 months and is doing really… Continue

I am very pleased to announce that my friends Welsh Section D, Molly, gave birth to a very healthy little colt in April!!!

He kept us waiting nearly 3 weeks and had the vet rather concerned, but as it turned out he just wasn't quite cooked untill now!!

He is yet to have a name but we are working on it, I was thinking Malachi (pronounced mal'a'kye) Mally for short? He is my latest addition and… Continue

Hi Ami,
Donnie and I are doing great after finally thawing out from all the snow! We are doing lots of hacking and mixing it with work of course! Do you ride the horses that have been neglected? Where did you find them?

Hi Ami,
Welcome to Barnmice! If you go to the Take the Tour at the top right of the site, you will have a pretty good idea of all the buttons to click. Also, everyone here is very friendly, so if you click on View All Members, you might see some people who seem interesting to make friends with. Hope this is helpful!
