I really understand how you feel. I too am getting old for the cold weather workouts. I have scleroderma and lunging or roundpenning makes me very dizzy, very quickly due to low blood pressure. I cannot be out in the cold because of the…

Mary replied to Marti Langley's discussion 'Anyone ride Western on this forum? Trail rider? Team sorter?'
Hi, we are western riders too. I like to trail ride around the farm, my hubby is learning to ride and our daughter rides western too. She is learning western pleasure with our little appy mare that is in training too. Our mare is not registered…

Hi, sorry to be so long in responding. I'm the lady with MS. MS has been affecting my life for at least 52 years, when my parents moved to Chile and I got exposed to TB. I don't seem to have Lyme disease symptoms, and as I said it started…

Greetings: This is a little delayed response. I don't know if it will be read. I noticed someone asking about occupational therapy - and I am an OT so to speak. But I noticed that someone had reported having MS. Are you aware that - it seems -…

Hi everyone. Thanks for all the advice and info. During the last couple of weeks, we've been working mainly in the roundpen. I can lunge her there without a line, just the whip to assist when she isn't listening. She will lunge pretty good…

The first thing I would suggest is that her horse needs to be well trained with voice and seat. Our trainer has been awesome with helping me with this. Our green, young mare has an amazing whoa. I can just say it or just seat back on my pockets and…

Hello, I am in desperate need of advise. My friend has a horse, she also has raynaud's. While riding at the canter, she lost her reins and didn't even realize it until she tried to stop. Imagine her panic! Does anyone have any suggestions.…

I'm puzzled that I'm getting a message that you have chosed to moderate or limit comments, not sure how it worded it so I'll keep this short and see if you get it. My husband liked the pic of your horse as he was peaking over my shoulder the other night.

I am recouperating froma 3week+ cold thingy. Coughing just once in a while but working now to get my energy back. My next goal with Cash is to get out arouind the barnyard more. Now that it's cool enough and the cold is better the MOSQUITOS are horrible. Insecticides mess with my respiratory system so I hate putting it on me just as I'm getting better but I can't loose this summer for riding out of the arenas. Cash gets spunkier the minute we leave the fenced in areas or walls, his adrenalin goes up a bit which is a good thing and I now have new opportunities to ride a friskier horse. Just need to practice those one rein stops outside the arena so that little safety feature is well installed.

Hi everyone. I finally figured out how to load a pic. This one was taken last night of our daughter on our young mare. They are doing better communicating with each other. The horse is learning that she has to listen to our daughter's cues. lol
