Ok, I'm well aware that many issues can cause a horse to get back sore, including saddle fit, traveling inverted, rider not sitting trot correctly, etc. But my horse and I have been working dressage…Continue

I have no problem shipping to Canada as long as you have no problem paying for what it costs. It is still available, is an awesome, very comfortable saddle, and I would keep it except that since I now ride my horse dressage, we would look kind of…

This is a very common sports injury site. Get a massage therapist in, and get yourself some Sore No More to apply to the area. The arnica reacts to the injured area and will foam lightly over the stressed muscle.

I've dealt with a lot of this from my TB. I do consider it a sports injury and treat as such. When I notice soreness, I give him a day or two off, until it isn't sore any more. I do make sure he's moving around, just without me on…

Back Soreness, Suddenly!

Ok, I'm well aware that many issues can cause a horse to get back sore, including saddle fit, traveling inverted, rider not sitting trot correctly, etc. But my horse and I have been working dressage now for almost a year. No soreness. He is progressing amazingly well, considering he is a western pleasure dropout! Gryphon is a 9 year old Paint gelding who looks more warmblood than anything else.We have been working on laterals and he has been doing very well. On Sunday we warmed up in our usual…See More

Perhaps some disciplines are pushing too hard, unnecessarily. Remember Christopher Reeves. It might be time to step back and reassess the reasons why we do this thing called competition.

Bravo! As long as you and your horse are having fun together, it doesn't really matter what discipline you follow. I can relate, so well. For awhile, even though I ride english, I couldn't do anything but plod along in my western saddle,…

First, are you ensuring that your horse is ready for hard work? Are you warming him up in walk and working trot sufficiently, or lunging the crap out of him before you get on if he's fresh? Many times a change in the weather, the environment,…

Perhaps it used to be that way, at least in the US when Dressage first started becoming popular in the 1990's. I was riding a loud colored 15 hand paint at the A rated shows at the time and getting asked "Love your mascot, but where's…
