Judith A James commented on Katherine T's group 'Thoroughbred Herd'
I am no expert with regard to confirmation, but overall he looks really nice. I think he looks a trifle long in the pasterns and although it is hard to see on the photo he looks as though perhaps his near hind has suffered and injury? Is there…

Judith A James replied to Kat's discussion 'How far can you trace back your thoroughbreds Ancecters?' in the group Thoroughbred Herd
I have been able to trace my mare's heritage all the way back to the Darley Arabian through the stallions. Although never raced herself her ancestors come from a long line of successful racing thoroughbreds and her sire's heritage is…

Judith A James replied to Kat's discussion 'Buying another TB' in the group Thoroughbred Herd
Hi Kat, thoroughbreds are wonderful. I bought my current thoroughbred mare as a newly backed 3 year old. I have had her since 1996. As a 3 year old she was volatile and could be quite explosive. She is still sharp and athletic at 16yrs old. Now she…

Judith A James replied to Amber J.'s discussion 'Cantering problem'
You don't say whether it is on one or both reins. It may be tension and unbalanced movement due to your horse finding it difficult to work in a confined area on a bend. Does your horse favour a certain lead on the trail? Check back muscles and…

Hi Lesley and Barbara. I have just been out for a lovely hack in the sunshine and although it's Sunday I am now sitting down at my computer to begin planning a training workshop I shall be delivering in London in two weeks time. Lesley, I will be in touch with an email soon, but am feeling inundated by work and chores at home. Hope you are well and continuing to ride too.
