I'm a different Jackie Cochran. I would have thought I had died and gone to heaven if my Mother-in-law was an Arab breeder! Arabs were soooo expensive back in the sixties and seventies, there was no way I could afford a purebreed. Nowadays it is different, and I get to ride Arabs at the stable I take lessons at. Yeah!!!!

You said that you were interested in what others are doing with their horses.
My name is Gary Glaser and I am the mounted commander of the 9th New York Cavalry and live in Binbrook, Ont. I belong to a group of equine enthusiasts that enjoy living historians and American civil war, we are the 9th NY cavalry.
The Ninth New York Cavalry has been reactivated by ain the portrayal of the life of the Federal Horse Soldier. As a group, we participate in living history encampments, re-enactments, and giving informative lectures throughout the year in both Ontario and the U.S.
No I've only been in Canada a few times, though I did get to camp with my parents in the Bay of Fundy National Park in 1964? I remember how WONDERFUL the camping was up in Canada compared to the US National Parks, the lap of luxury up there!
We also went to Prince Edwards Island, I remember this because there was a pony on the ferry and his owner let me moon over him all the ferry ride. Nothing special, just a mutt pony, but for an hour or two I thought he was wonderful since that was the longest I had ever been able to "talk" with a horse until I got my first horse.
