I currently live in Halifax but am originally from Newfoundland! I have 2 horses: a 19 year old retired Anglo-arab (Juno) and a 5 year old hanavarian (Florina). I am a keen dressage enthusiast. My job requires quite a lot of travel and although interesting it takes me away from what I love most, hangin out with the horses.....
Thanks so much for your advice and comments; they are very much appreciated. I will look into what you suggest. Right now I go home about once a month to ride the gelding you see in my pictures (Dillon). He has regressed quite a bit from the progress we made last year, but I think he has a lot of potential--and to think he was originally trained Western (he's a full Quarter Horse)! Best of luck with your horses--Florina looks lovely.
Hi. Wow that is exciting. There are lots of good coaches down that way, one who I have ridden with. Call or email me. Want to hear about your house. Now I will have an excuse to go that way more often. I'm going to the dressage symposium at the end of Oct. in Cloverdale. If you want to hook up or go together let me know.
And of course Juno will be coming out to live with me on our new farm?
Hi again. been on here a bit. You are right, great site. I am working sporadically, so of course the horse isn't steady, but this too will pass.
I actually have a show in 2 weeks [ recognized {Bronze}, no less], and am in a clinic with Andy W. this weekend. Hope to god he's ready to be amazed...at how poorly we are going. No time to work the horse.
How is the Fab. Florina? You really look well on her. Of course, I'd look better, so send her over anytime...yuk yuk.
Hope to see you this summer...have time off in July, but not confirmed. Keep in touch me girl.....D...
Well girl, it's all about the basics, isn't it? Florina looks well in the pics..I can see why you think she's been ridden deep, her neck muscles indicate it a bit, but you'll soon get her in front of your leg...she looks very correct in that pic at the trot..other than head. Madi is coming along , but as she barely schooled last year due to my injury, I found we have regressed backwards in the canter, but progressed forwards in lateral work, am now introducing half-pass...with limited success..but it's coming. She struggles with countercanter becouse canter isn't her best gait...so we have to practise. Working on multiloop serpentines with simple lead changes on the line..she has forgotten how to walk them, and offers flyings !!! Sigh. Journey....right?
Yes there are a few. Depends on the type of care you want...self board or full care. If you look at the website: www.castanet.net there are advertisiments for a few places.
I am so glad you joined. There is lots of cool stuff on here.
Ok so you have to move to Kelowna. I've been so homesick lately and having a NL friend here would really help. Will come visit you all the time (is that a good thing?) and will bring chocolate cake. Also your horses will love Kelowna.
