Nancy McHardy replied to Robin's discussion What is your fondest riding memory? in the group The Over 40 Rider
"I used to ride my Sundance in the snow and my brother and Mom would ride their snowmobiles beside us. The snow flew from his feet and he loved it! I also used to pull my brother on a toboggan behind us. One day I hitched Sundance to a sleigh and…"

Nancy McHardy replied to Robin's discussion What is your fondest riding memory? in the group The Over 40 Rider
"Hi Robin, I had always wanted to ride on the beach by the Ocean, and a couple of years ago went to Mexico and got that chance. The other riders wanted to walk, but the leader asked who wanted to canter along the shore, so off we went and it was a…"

"Hi Jenny, I feel for you at losing your farm. It is good you have your mare, she will save you and point you in the right direction, I believe our horses really know what is going on in our heads. Maybe they see our emotions, or they just sense…"

Nancy McHardy commented on Debbie Burrows's group The Over 40 Rider
"When my 20 year old mare was returned back to me, in foal, she was blind in one eye. She compensated for that by a slight turn to her head and had her foal. She seemed to be more protective of her foal than the other mares, and prefered to be in a…"

Nancy McHardy replied to Barbara F.'s discussion How do you stay in shape? in the group The Over 40 Rider
"After 8 years without a horse in my life, my 20 year old mare was returned to me ( I had owned her since she was 7) and she was in foal. I was over 50 when the filly was born. She had problems nursing at first, then she was fine and at 7 weeks old…"

I signed up for the Anatomy "Tour", which is a general overview of the horse. I didn't sign up for the next day where you could choose a specific topic to study, for cost reasons at this time. They only provide this course once a year and I will do the second stage at this time next year. I will let you know all about it. I think it will be fascinating.

I was talking to Gayle Ecker of U of Guelph the other day and I learned a lot about the anatomy course that will be in April - it sounds absolutley brilliant and I hear it sells out quickly!
Let me know how you enjoy it.

I am considering going to Can Am on Sunday, I have to work Friday and Saturday. I enjoy that show. It was at Can Am that I met Chris Irwin and got involved in his seminars and clinics. Are you there?

Guelph is great - their courses are spot on - I've heard really good things about them from many of our members and my personal colleagues too.
Will you be atending the Can-Am in London this weekend? They have some great seminars there. www.canamequine.ca
