The environment plays a vital factor, and it affects every living thing on this planet. As human beings, it is like a sacred duty to save the environment. There are many human actions and machines built by human beings that affect the environment, but the ill effects can be curbed if proper measures are implemented. The keeping of a pet animal or…

Duck Dressage at Infinity Farm.

My ducks are growing up and they need a hobby. Dressage seems the obvious choice. Dressage has an elite, almost aristocratic elegance that ducks appreciate.

Duck Dressage has a lot going in its favor: no abusive shoeing practices for their…

Compassion for All Life. Not Quite.

This morning a lone Canadian goose flew over my pond, calling loudly- back and forth, and again. I wondered if she had lost her mate, or worse. Heart-felt goose sympathy…

If you have read my blog, I think it is pretty obvious how I feel about animals, and especially horses. To be clear- any horse, any mustang, any donkey, any pony. And then- any age, any breed, any challenge. Of course- any place, any time. Finally- any equine not already mentioned.

An Everyday Nativity Scene.

Infinity Farm is not located in the Holy Land, but we are a stable.

This isn’t really a manger. It’s a banana yellow pull-wagon.

And this isn’t Baby Jesus. It’s Hannah- she helps me with…

What a Parrot Taught Me About Horses.

There were a few dark years (between leaving home and having enough income to support a horse) that I was earthbound with only house pets. I survived it. Barely.

During that horse-less time, a box arrived. It was a surprise parrot -from a friend in Panama. I’m not saying it was a great idea to catch a bird and ship her, I’m just saying that she…

Equine Intelligence

So, for the first time ever, I have no crazy story to tell. But this time, it's about my observations.

People say animals can't "reason" or that they aren't "intelligent". I have to say I dissagree, specially when it comes to horses.

The lesson pony I currently ride, is a prick. He likes to desrupt your plans, which makes him a great pony as you need to be a step ahead of him at all times. So if your coming close to a jump, I actully see him turning his ears,…

Therapy Animals -Every One.

I was being half-mauled by a terrier. I was running an errand in an urban office and the dog’s owner was horrified. She apologized, explaining that her dog never did that.

In the dogs’ defense, I have a very special stink to my feet. I carry with me a cornucopia of delightful smells from several species in my barn. I smell like an exception to the…

The Story of Rescued Horse Unfolds

As it turns out, Pickles is no ordinary horse. With a little research, we learned that her grandfather sired Kentucky Derby winner Foolish Pleasure.

So our starved, neglected horse has the blood of a champion in her veins. Maybe that's why she has this quiet sort of class about her.

Every day when we watch and work on her, she finds a way to tell us something new about herself and what she's been through.

Today we finished shaving the hair off most of her rain… Continue
