Small and Frequent Meals – your body will do best if you give it frequent
little meals. If you try to starve yourself all morning by avoiding
breakfast then you are actually more likely to gain weight from the food
you eat – and research shows it is harder for people to concentrate and
focus if they skip breakfast. Start with a healthy breakfast including a
piece of fruit and something whole gain (like a whole grain toast or
cereal). Then have a mid morning snack like yogurt, nuts, or fruit). Have
light lunch – soup or salads are good options that can fill you up without
a lot of calories…although make sure the soup doesn’t have too much sodium
and the salad has a light dressing. Have an afternoon snack and a light
supper, followed up by an evening snack (but make sure the evening snack
isn’t too close to bedtime).
