10 Diet Tips to a Healthier You, Tip 7

Check the Portion Sizing – many people get confused with portion sizing
and overeat with their meals. Restaurants are especially bad and will give
you servings that give you what you need in one day, all in one meal!

  1. Grains: 1 slice of bread, ½ a bagel, or ½ a cup of pasta is 1 serving
  2. Vegetables and Fruit: 1 cup of vegetables or ½ cup of fruit is 1 serving
  3. Dairy: 1 cup milk or ¾ cup yogurt is 1 serving
  4. Meat: ½ cup meat/fish (picture a deck of cards), or 2 tbsp of peanut butter is 1 serving… and adults only need 2-3 servings per day!
