Let me introduce you all to Bruvin. He is a 4 year old native Norwegian breed called Døla hest. He is 165 cm and 700 kg (50 kg of summer vacation belly).

I’ve known Bruvin since the day he was born. I was out in the field trying to find the horses and after 90 minutes I found them underneath some big old trees. Bruvins mom had two feet sticking out. Needless to say she was giving birth, and I helped her.

I was the first human he saw, the first human he smelled, the first human who touched him and talked to him and the only human his mum let him play with. Since that day I’ve had a special place in my heart for him. Now 4 years later he has grown into a big and beautiful boy.

It is now time to start riding him and we do it by taking baby steps. Yesterday was a great day. My first mount with no help from anyone. I’ve always had someone by his head, just in case. Yesterday my “someone” was placed 5 meters away, taking pictures. I mounted him and we went for a ride in the river. We met bikes, cars. trucks, people, dogs, and a electrical wheelchair. He didn’t look twice at any of them

I am so happy for you... baby steps is so good... my trainer claims that if you have the right relationship and communication with your horse they trust you do so so many things.... I love your baby.... my Oliver was an orphan but I met him when he was 2 months old. I'm his person...... I'm learning to ride too so we take it v e r y s l o w..... and he loves to learn a little bit at a time with me... we have a trainer that helps us grow and bond. I think your horse is extremely handsome.... and what a good boy. Thanks for sharing, Jen. Toby and Oliver
