Previously I was talking about horsemanship, trust and connection, which led me to ask the question about what you would like your partner to be like. Now the reason I asked this was, and this is going to sound a bit out of place, but a horse wants to be treated like a woman wants to be treated.

In general, what horses and women want is a true attentive partnership and courtship. Both women and horses want to be protected also. Woman can see they are like a horse and they respect the power in the horse’s spirit that they know is within their own understanding and nature, and they want to take care of the horse in the way they would like to be taken care of. When attempts at leadership do not work, usually people are not following the list but rather treating a horse like a child and not a partner. We need to be a parent, partner, leader and friend in the right moment.

A woman in general would rather have the power of a horse than the power of a lion. Speaking in general, a man wants the power of the lion and the support of the horse, the same thing he would from a woman. When little girls are drawn to horses, they usually want to be a horse. Little boys who are drawn to horses are more likely to imagine that the horse can take them into battle and they ride a high spirited, almost out of control, broomstick. When I was growing up, I was the horse and I rode a well behaved broomstick that I loved as my imaginary horse. And I rode horses, read horse stories and dressed in cowboy and cowgirl clothing and played on the floor with horse figurines with other horse crazy kids, as well as coloring in picture books of horses.

When we take a look at people who have a way with horses, you will find they exude a certain ability to take care of any situation and women are really drawn to this. But more than that, what they really want is to connect with a horse and gain the strength that a horse possesses for themselves. In general, women believe that their personal power is gained from developing a heartfelt bond with a horse and when this happens the horse will naturally allow her to ride from the bonded trust she has formed.

When children become the horse, what they want is that horsepower inside themselves. But being able to harness that ability and use it in the practical world takes practice and a combination of both masculine and feminine reasons in wanting a relationship with a horse.
The horse community in general lacks belief in the natural magnetism of horses and humans and so they end up using force. This first thing that is important in getting along with a horse is to be attentive without force by staying in charge of what your horse is doing. A big reason horses develop behavior problems that need fixing is that attentiveness to directing a horse was not maintained.

The lessons we can all learn from connecting with a horse without force or the need for aggression can be really beneficial. The way to develop this ability to lead without force is through attentiveness. If you want to learn attentiveness, know horses and gain a connection with your horse, then practicing the Waterhole Rituals™ will get you there faster than any other way I know.

You need to practice using the rituals on easy horses at first and must have a natural ability with horses in general to use the rituals on your own. If you want to speed things up, then a private clinic with me can help you gain the rudimentary skills you will need to be able to work on your own with the Waterhole Rituals™ and to gain the skill to become your own horse
whisperer.
