Love this new blog post by expert Confidence + Money Breakthrough Coach, Cathy Rivers of Big Horse Dreams, Inc.!

Also, I was asked the question not long ago: Do I think that your success and confidence as an equestrian is connected to your relationship with money?

DO YOU HAVE OLYMPIC-SIZED CONFIDENCE?

post by CATHY RIVERS, Big Horse Dreams, Inc.

I’ve been watching the Olympics, have you? I am continually inspired by the personal stories of these athletes and what they do to achieve such levels of excellence.

For me, the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team was the vision of confidence last night. Those young women were locked in on their goal; you could feel and see their confidence and determination.

When I was their age I played concert violin in our local Youth Symphony. I remember anytime I would watch the adult symphony play, that I would somehow soak up all their technique, their posture, their bowing motions, their passion for playing. And when I returned to my own practice, my playing was elevated to a new level.

Watch these Olympians, soak up their passion and their confidence and bring it in to your own life. Let them inspire you to be your best.

All of these athletes have put in their time, energy and attention in order to attain these levels of performance. Here’s my list of Olympic lessons for building confidence:

  1. Have a dedicated practice schedule
  2. Make practice fun
  3. Gather the support of your family and friends
  4. Never waiver from your goal
  5. Take injuries and setbacks with grace
  6. Train your brain to be forward thinking
  7. Visualize the end result
  8. Trust
  9. Work with the best coaches
  10. Be an ambassador for your work
  11. Live and breathe excellence
  12. Be humble

Do you want to up your game with your horse? Watch 30 minutes of the Olympics. Find the lesson in that 30 minutes, embody it and then go for a ride!
