Hello All

Please take a moment to view the two attached links regarding the travesty that happened last weekend at the Festival of the Horse when Pat Parelli attempted to resolve a problem with the horse Catwalk, owned and ridden by British show jumping icon Robert Whitaker.

The first link illustrates the outrage that so many people feel after witnessing the shameful event. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gf7w_1ifus&feature=youtu.be

The second link is to a very provocative video blog response to the sham by Canadian horseman Chris Irwin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGfqLkonBg0

It'd be a miracle if that horse's shoulder isn't sore after all that hauling it out to the side.

What I saw was old-fashioned "horse-taming" ala Rarey, Beery, Wallace, Hayes and others. NOT a new method (all those others were from the late 1800's) from when the horse tamers prided themselves on quick and dramatic results.
There seems to be a portion of American horsepeople who do think that their skulls are unbreakable.

That would be interesting to see!! I wonder if Mr Parelli is going to offer any defence? It would be interseting to hear why he felt the need to get a rope on the leg. Was the horse striking?
