Today we were off to a schooling show with a UK judge who was in doing a clinic yesterday. She marched over the wooden bridge to the outdoor schooling ring, where she was very good. Easy warm up, although it takes a bit to get some forward going. Into the ring and off we go.

So, let us then enumerate the rider errors that caused her to score under 70:

Stiff hands into the halt.

Inconsistent contact, but better.

Started a 20m circle when it should have been 15m. Ended up around 18m.

Quick break from canter (one step), not enough leg.

Abrupt transitions from the lengthen.

Not ENOUGH lengthen at the canter to the right.

Crooked lengthen at the canter to the left.

One huge trip from canter to trot. Remainder of transitions a bit braced.

However, let us also note that there was not ONE misbehaviour caused by the rider either, so that's pretty good. Less than two months with a new trainer and my riding is revolutionized and the little Muffin is MOST appreciative! I wonder to myself how long it's going to take me to figure out this dressage thing! And to think I wasted 20 years over fences! Just kidding, I enjoyed that, but I do think that Dressage is more my thing. I find it relaxing to go in knowing the 'course' and not having to find distances to fences...

Maggie needs to teach me what I'm doing for when my little Folly is ready. Less than three weeks to due date. I'm still hoping for a filly. The rest of the world seems to think we should be hoping for a colt. That whole 'mares can be super difficult' thing. I have three. I like them. Maybe I've been blessed with my girls.

Next stop: Anderson show starting on Friday.
