The Spanish Riding School
With its world famous Lipizzaner stallions and dressage training and techniques, the Spanish Riding School is definitely a Mecca for any horse lover. Take in one of their daily shows and be awed by the power and grace of over 300-years of refined dressage technique. It’s also in one of the world's most cultured cities of Vienna so in addition to the riding school, there are plenty of sites to see.
Lexington, Kentucky
Home to hundreds of internationally renounced thoroughbreds, owners, stables, trainers, jockey’s, races, etc. Lexington is definitely the world’s thoroughbred racing capitol. Take in races at Churchill Downs or Keeneland and watch several acclaimed races take place right before your eyes. Not to mention the Kentucky Horse Park which pays a homage to all of the great racehorses with dedicated statues.
Spruce Meadows
Home to internationally acclaimed tournaments during its active show season, Spruce Meadows is certainly one with a hunter/jumper interest should see. It’s a chance to see some of Canada’s greatest equestrians compete in their homeland for some of the most prestigious tournaments in North America.
Ireland
Ireland’s well known for providing enjoyable horseback vacations. Even if you’re going with a not-so-horsey friend or partner, who can resist the grand sweeping view of an Irish country-side? A lot of bed and breakfast places in the country side offer horseback riding. It’s the comfort of home and horses and you don’t have to do a thing but enjoy yourself. Definitely a vacation worth taking.
Ascot Berks
Britain’s premier racetrack is defiantly something to see. Many great racehorses have run these turfs for centuries. You’ll also be wowed by the grandness of it all from the architecture and décor to the hats and horses. It also doesn't hurt that your chances of finding a handsome British gentleman with a fondness for equines is higher here.
