2014 has come and gone like the leaves on a ttree in the fall. Now we embrace 2015 with open arms and new goals. Last year was the year of the horse. For me and some of you, it really was. Four months ago, I started riding again. Something I had given up on doing due to fear. Now, four months later, I am doing great. I usually don't make resolutions,I've never been one to do that. But this year, I did make one. My goal is to accomplish my fear head-on and ride a sixteen hand horse without fear. Even if I never do it again, I still want to try.

But I think that's what riding is all about. Conquering hills and mountains that stand in your way. Becoming an unstoppable force with your horse. Building a bond so strong only death can do you part. When riding you must establish trust and respect. This is what I am learning. Both you and your horse will have hicups along the way and fallouts. But you will get over them, together. Nothing is better than watching Stacy Westfall and Roxy(now deceased) or McClain Ward and Rothchild together. They ride as a team. As one. Ward and Westfall Respect their horses and in turn their horses respect them and they trust each other. I imagine they had fears and goals and mountains that they accomplished.

Every year we make resolutions, some met, some forgotten. Every year we make accomplishments and we run into mountains. And we keep going. So This year, 2015,will be MY year of the horse and I will accomplish my resolution as I know you will too. Happy New Year Barnmice!
